Legislative Relations (LR), is a Student Government organization whose purpose is to provide students with a voice to the governing bodies that influence the future of Texas A&M University. These governing bodies include the U.S. and Texas Legislatures, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and the Texas A&M System Board of Regents.
The LR team keeps abreast of current legislative issues through various information sources such as the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation, legislative e-mails from various interest groups, and contacts with senators and representatives. With this information, LR determines which issues could possibly have an impact on Texas A&M University.
Legislative Relations strives to provide policymakers with relevant and up-to-date information about issues that affect Texas A&M students. LR welcomes the input of interested students, parents, and alumni who are concerned about the future of higher education policy.
